Whitecourt Trailblazers Weekly Trail Report – Sunday January 18th, 2026

𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦. 𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴. 𝘔𝘢𝘫𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨! 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘸. 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘴.

Staging Areas:
➡️Eagle River Staging Area is currently off limits; Government of Alberta crews are in there completing upgrades.
✨North trail system staging area will be at the Eagle River Casino on the far west side (beside the Husky truck stop) until further notice. The parking lot has been plowed.
➡️Groat Creek Staging Area is open.

Grooming:
𝙽𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚑 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚕 𝚂𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚖:
Carson Trail, Carson Lake Trail & Eagle Trail were all groomed on January 2nd – 3rd
No new grooming completed.

𝚂𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚑 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚕 𝚂𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚖:
Bessie Creek Trail – groomed Jan. 11th
Manweiler Trail from #45 to Summit Cabin – groomed Jan. 11th
Manweiler Trail from #45 to the river – creeks were filled Jan. 6th
Groat Creek Canyon Trail, Groat Creek Connector and Summit Trail from the Y (#32) up to Summit Cabin were all groomed Jan. 8th
Summit Trail from Summit Cabin to Tom Hill Tower Cabin – groomed Jan. 11th

𝙸𝚗-𝚃𝚘𝚠𝚗 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚕 𝚂𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚖:
Trail from Forest Interpretive Center to West Mountain Road through Centennial Park was groomed Jan 7th.
Flats Road Trail grooming put off due to warm weather, will groom when it cools off.

Hazards on the Trails:
⚠️Active logging on the Manweiler and Bessie creek trails in the area of numbers 39,45 also between numbers 45,47 on the south trail system, be cautious of logging road crossings and logging equipment.
As always, our words are ” Ride at your own Risk” as the environment can change the conditions at any given time.
Natural hazards may include ice, running water, ruts, rocks, stumps, trees, muskeg. Our trails end at the bank to any body of water. Any River, Lake, Pond or Creek may not be frozen, please stay off of any large bodies of water.
