Whitecourt Trail Report – January 31st, 2025

𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙄𝙇 𝙍𝙀𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 30𝙩𝙝, 2025
The Whitecourt area has received between 5-10cm of new snow over the past week. And the snow had continued to fall throughout Thursday and into Friday. We have started grooming operations on both the north and south trails. All trails have been groomed at least once.
Staging Areas:
Both staging areas are open for the season. Use caution if you are leaving the parking lot or trail at Eagle River Staging Area as there may be mulching debris present.
Grooming:
𝙉𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙃: Grooming has started on the north trails. All north trails have been groomed.
All trails east of Highway 32 were groomed last week. The Manweiler Trail down to the Athabasca River, Temporary Trail, Golden Triangle Trail West of Highway 32 are being groomed this week. Trails are in good shape but use caution as it is still early season conditions.
Watch for low snow areas in cut blocks.

𝙎𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙃: Grooming has started on the south trails. All south trails have been groomed.
The Bessie Creek Trail, Manweiler Trail from #45 to the Summit Cabin, the Summit Trail from Whitecourt to #47, the Groat Creek Canyon and connector trails will be groomed Friday. The Goodwin Lake Trail will be groomed once the temperature drops. The Goodwin Lake Trail has icy sections on some of the hills, please use caution. Trails are in good shape but use caution as it is early season conditions. Watch for low snow areas in cut blocks

Hazards on the Trails:
Please always stay on the groomed trails. If you are heading out snowmobiling please use extreme caution. As always, our words are ” Ride At Your Own Risk” as the environment can change the conditions at any given time. Early season conditions still apply – natural hazards may include ice, running water, rocks, stumps, trees, muskeg. Our trails end at the banks, all water bodies may not be frozen, stay off large bodies of water.
