Swan Hills – No new snow. Blowing winds during the week so be cautious as the drifts are hard. Stay warm.
Fox Creek – 2 foot base and the trails are in great condition!
Whitecourt – Trail Report February 11, 2021
We have not received a lot of fresh snow and VERY COLD THIS PAST WEEK!!! We have about 6-12″ on the trail system. Some places are deep and others are not. We are all super sad that we aren’t able to host a rally this coming weekend, it’s always a good time.
Trail Cleaning: Thanks again to all of our trail cleaners on both the north and south trails, who cleaned a second time after our big snow squal. We will not be cleaning or grooming the Carson Trail between #9 to #6 (cut across trail to Golden Triangle and Gundy Trail). Trail cleaning is finished except for the Golden Triangle section from Carson Cabin to Letter O. We will then be filling creeks, with the snow cats on the connector between L & O.
Grooming: It’s been too cold this past week to groom. SOUTH:We groomed on the south side from the gravel pit to the Summit Trail to Summit Cabin, as well on Bessie and Manweiler Trails. Trails can be still a bit rough in places due to low snow. We have not groomed the Summit to Tom Hill or Goodwin and Groat Creek – they will be groomed when it warms up next week. NORTH: no grooming done yet – next week.
Hazards: Trails can be still a bit rough in places due to low snow-ride cautiously. Major waterways are not frozen and extremely rough. Beware of logging on the Golden Triangle Connector between Gundy Cabin and Virginia Hills and Logging by #15 & #16 (Carson Trail). The trail that crosses the road on #10 area is being used. Watch for signs and beware of big equipment.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID 19 Pandemic Restrictions and late snow, we are cancelling our Rally. See you Family Day Weekend 2022. Don’t forget to support us on purchasing an online sled deck raffle ticket through our social media and website. It has now become our major fundraiser.https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/whitecourttsc
